How I created a pin board with Felt Right Wall Tiles

My initial goal was to find a pin board I can place in my kitchen to display my kids’ art and add notes. I saw a lot of options from cork to actual magnetic boards. None of them were going to tie into my space as much as I wanted to. Until I discovered Felt Right!

Felt Right is a beautiful company with a beautiful mission. The coolest part about Felt Right Tiles is that you can buy them in a variety of colors AND can arrange them in whatever palette you want. The possibilities of the patterns you can create with these products are literally endless. All you need is to create your own design, get it in the mail and glue it to the wall. They are designed to make your home beautiful, while also saving the planet…I mean, who doesn’t want that?!

All products are innovative, well-priced and everything is sustainably produced.

When I found that out I got really excited! Here are some examples below ….

Now let’s talk more about how sustainable these products are and then I’ll tell you how I decided to use them in my home.

Sustainability:

All Felt Right’s felt tiles:

  • are made with at least 50 percent recycled content—the equivalent of four PET water bottles per each 12×12 tile.
  • Contain no red-list chemicals.
  • Emit no harmful VOCs (volatile organic compounds).

They also actively pursue a zero waste-to-landfill policy by incorporating waste reduction, recycling, and waste-to-energy initiatives in their manufacturing process.

So what can you do with these tiles?

I can only assume that’s your next question 😉

So there are a few things!

1. Use as art

With all of the endless color and palette combinations, you can use these as beautiful, affordable pieces of art. Find a few colors and play around! You may come up with something you never expected. I like to use art to tie colors together in a room and this would be a great place to utilize that. For example, maybe you chose a gray couch, blue pillows, and a green rug….just choose the tiles in all those colors, create a cool pattern, and VOILA! You’ve now bridged all of your colors together 🙂

2. Pin Board

No need to have a corkboard in your home when you have these. Use them as a creative pin board that you can add pictures, inspiration, fabrics, whatever you want! I can image these would be absolutely perfect for a home workspace or a collaborative space. This would also be perfect for a vision board, so that you can pin inspiration photos to it and manifest your goals into existence.

3. Limit Sound

These tiles absorb 35% of sound that they come in contact with. They could potentially be helpful in a loud space or in an open-concept office where employees are within an arms reach of each other. Also great to utilize in spaces that do not have a lot of soft goods like furniture or rugs, which can also help to reduce sound.

I don’t know of anything else you can use these for but considering the design possibilities and easy installation, I’m sure there are many options out there for how they can be used in your home or office space.

How I used Felt Right In My Home:

The reason I have selected this Felt Right is that I didn’t want a typical cork pin board in my kitchen. I wanted something that was fun, and could be on the wall by itself, but also something that matched my colorful yellow walls, and wouldn’t stand out too much. A daunting task, but when I found Felt Right I was excited. I could design any pattern and pick any color I wanted. I chose the colors “mineral” and “citrine” yellow and we put them up together.

Once my family got involved, as we mapped out and measured up where we wanted everything to go. After the initial setup of knowing where to start the rest was just easy. My little one had so much fun putting up his artwork and even today he still uses it and shows family and friends his newest creations.

In the future, I’ll probably use these in my office so that I can pin product options for clients, samples, notes about each client, etc.

And I’m definitely going to buy more colors and hope to use them in future products!

What do you think, is that something you want to have fun with?
